Reviews about Moon Belize (Moon Handbooks) (7):

I traveled to Belize at the end of February, 2012. This book was very helpful in planning the trip and giving us suggestions once we got there. A good amount of variety to the recommendations for food, and we agreed with pretty much everything that was said about the places we ended up choosing. We used it mostly for activity and food, having booked our lodging ahead of time. Some nice pictures, but more would be better. I loved the small size so it easily fit in any bag to carry along with us if we should need it. 3.5/5 stars.

Another guide book in the standard Moon format, easy to read, well organized, and a great starting place to do further research. I have used these in several Central American countries and find they give a very good overview of the specific country and also provide resources to utilize in planning and enjoying your move or visit.

This was very useful in planning a trip to Belize & Guatemala. I chose my hotels based on the reviews in this book and was very pleased!!! I purchased another guide that I thought had better maps, restaurant listings, and descriptions of sites. All the information of this book was current and useful, though a bit limited. I would recommend purchasing more than one travel guide to get thorough information.

This was a very helpful guide with current information. I used it to find culturally interesting things to do in Belize that were off the beaten path and ended up being highlights of my trip.

Together with the Rough Guide, Moon Belize is essential for planning a visit for the adventurous traveler off the beaten tourist trail of Belize. This small country is extremely varied in its cultures, its sights, and its topography. The Moon Guide provides excellent preparation.

I bought this guide to Belize because it was the most recent guidebook available. There is no useful information regarding buses or timetables. The books is formatted in paragraph form, which makes it difficult to consult quickly. Hotels and restaurants often do not have a price range for reference. Maps are not great. It is an ok guidebook for a general overview of Belize, but it's not very helpful on the road. I'll stick with Lonely Planet.

I thought the book was excellent, detailed, easy to read, good photographs and covered things that I had not thought about or forgot. A must if your traveling there.
Comprehensive review of the entire country...well worth reading, as there are not any travel agencies who cater specifically to Belize that will be able to give you this much info.
