I have read all of the Murder, She Wrote books in order of publication and this by far is my favorite so far! New Orleans is the perfect backdrop for a fun and entertaining murder mystery.
Fenrikasa
I've read several "Murder She Wrote" books this year, and this is my favorite. The writer really captured the spirit of New Orleans, and this book is much more descriptive than the others were. My only complaint might be that the victim was a friend. That made it a little too sad in places for pure escapist reading.

In addition to the murder plot, this book is a primer of New Orleans jazz and cuisine. Things do not really pick up until about a third the way through. But the character of Jessica Fletcher is so appealing that I did not mind wandering New Orleans restaurants and jazz joints with her.
Auridora
This was quite a good installment in the series, one of the best so far. The murderer's motives were believable and there were enough clues to solve the mystery, but it wasn't obvious. The New Orleans setting was also rich and vivid and made for a fresh change.
POFOD
This was purchased as a gift for a friend and she absolutely loved it! She devoured it in a day and was left wanting more.
You don't necessarily have to be a fan of the TV show to enjoy these books.

The story line for anyone who followed the TV series it's GREAT! You can see the town, the people and makes you want to have blueberry pancakes at Mara's! Loved it highly recommend!!!

These are my "go to" books when I don't want to be upset; Jessica is like family. Never too scary, never trash, always upholds the values I appreciate. I own the DVD series also.
Just like the television series. Well written and fast paced. Great reading material.
