Lizzie just continued to watch the rain fall. So, Sister, what brings you to Boston?" Jenny inquired tersely.

For disclaimers, see Part One. A special thank you goes out to my beta reader Joanne. As always this is for Heather. Lizzie just continued to watch the rain fall. She watched as Lizzie’s body stiffened and her jaw clenched.

Читать онлайн Finding My Way. Applewater Mavis. The book was my doctoral thesis, which was very well received.

Although the two main characters bare a strikingly similar appearance to the characters of a certain television show that we all know and love that happens to belong to Renaissance Pictures and Universal/MCA. This is the first book I have read by this author and it was worth it. There were a lot of proofreading issues such as words running together and not separating out each character's dialogue onto separate lines which did slow the reading process but I still enjoyed the plot and characters. The one big negative in my opinion was that there was a bit too much will she or won't Lizzie leave the church. I am curious how other nuns make that decision and how long it really takes once you know you need to make a final decision. Anyway, I would try another book by this author.

It's sad how little and big things can add up to keep young people apart. Misunderstandings, a religious obsessed mother and just poor communication force two young lovers apart. those same things continue to hinder their reunion several years later. of course neither really thought they'd see one another. can they now as adults get past those things that kept them apart in the past? oh and let's not forget, one of the young lovers is now a nun. Mavis is great as always. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!

I found this book entertaining as well as having some deep emotions. Jenny Jacobs is all grown up and still hasn't been able to have a relationship because of her first love. See how Jenny deals with the return of her first love and the complications involved in trying to build a new relationship.

This is the first book I've read by this author but when I saw it on Amazon.com and read the reviews it piqued my curiosity. I really enjoyed reading "My Sister's Keeper" by Mavis Applewater. The way the author developed the characters made them seem real and understandable. By showing the thinking processes of both Jenny and Lizzie(Sr. Rachel) made them seem like people I might have known in my life. The intimacy in the book made me want things to work out for Jenny and Lizzie. There were just enough suspenseful twists in the plot that I couldn't stop until I'd finished reading the whole book. My poor little dog had to wait until I got to pauses in the action for me to take her for her walks! Now I want to see what other works Ms Applewater has written will interest me. If characters in other books are as well developed as those in "My Sister's Keeper" I'm sure they will capture me as well.

My Sister's Keeper is a wonderful book with lots of romance and lusting! You will find yourself rooting for the tall dark cop and the fiesty little nun. Jenny and Lizzie or should I say "Sister Rachel" are amazing together. You can feel the electricity between them with the turn of each page. I also like the character of Kate, the overprotective yet insightful older sister of Lizzie. All three of these characters are real and very enjoyable. There is humor, love, lust, friendship, and hopefully a future for these 2 amazing characters. This is the first book I have read from Mavis Applewater and I look forward to reading her 2other books after this one! This book was a very easy read and I couldn't put it down until I was done. Missed a lttle sleep over that! Well worth it though...

It still a 5 star but it could use a editor for typing errors. It was a tiny distracting. However the story really is a good one. Too good to be overlooked because of those errors.

After reading all of the positive reviews I expected to like this a lot more than I did. Part of the problem for me is the book is written from only Jenny's POV. But she was way less interesting than Lizzie so I felt like I was missing a huge part of the story. Besides Jenny's breakup at the beginning of the book and the flashbacks of her childhood with Lizzie, not much else is going on with her except the constant will they/won't they with Lizzie. On the other hand Lizzie is a nun debating leaving the church, being pursued by a criminal, beaten by her mother etc. But we never get too deep into any of those issues. And the never-ending "gazes" that almost lead to Jenny and Lizzie getting back together gets a little old after awhile. I thought it could be a good story but needed a better editor to really flesh out the story. Also I bought this on my kindle fire. The formatting was horrible. Single spaced then double spaced then no space. Different fonts, missing words all made for a distracting reading experience.
To me just the right amount of angst mixed the underlying desire of the characters. Many of the flashbacks were mirrors of my own feelings. And the turmoil of the main character near the end was something I could sympathize with as well. To love someone and to let them go is easy to say until you are in that situation. How do you let them go? I enjoyed this book a great deal.
