Let me begin by stating that I rented this text book, all of the pages seem to be there, so the book will serve its purpose. That being said, I find it strange that a company would keep such a poor condition book in their rental rotation. The binding is very loose and is reinforced with packaging tape. The corners of the cover show substantial wear. Obviously this book has been in use for multiple years and with a semester rental fee of over $80.00, I am willing to bet this book has paid for itself many times over. I think this book has earned retirement.

text book was required for class but it is full of errors.

I received "Operational Amplifiers and Linear Integrated Circuits" by Robert F. Coughlin & Frederick F. Driscoll. The book came as used but in top condition. The description reported looked brand new before I bought it.
However the description on Amazons page also reported that this was hard cover and I received a paper back edition.
I am satisfied, this book will still have what I need for the course work.

My copy is beginning to fray. Goes to show you how important this book is in my collection. I'm no engineer but love designing circuits and so I'm always looking for references tailored for real world tinkering. Coughlin & Driscoll's work is most certainly not one that's heavy on theory and low on practical knowledge. On the contrary.

Just about everything in it is easy to understand. Learning the fundamentals of op amps, inverting and noninverting amplifiers, summers, low-pass and high-pass filters, etc. will be a breeze. Best of all it's rich in examples. Even has indispensable pointers on how to design various circuits. Now that's what I'm looking for.
I found the book to be very helpful during my undergraduate courses. As a masters student, I still refer to the book. It gives very good explanations to the basic operation of various op-amp circuits. Together with the well written explanations, the diagrams themselves are self-explanatory.
Generally a well organized and written book!
