I've used this book as the text for a Photoshop course I'm enrolled in. What is great are the step-by-step instructions to complete the chapter projects. What needs improvement are the test questions provided to the instructor. Our class was given a 25 question multiple choice test over chapters 1-3. Two of the questions had no correct answer, and another had a question that was misleading and vague. The test questions need to be proof read.
The images provided for many of the chapter activities were dull and uninspiring, and were poorly executed. Many of the extra activites on the website for enrichment had multiple errors.
After completing most of the activities in the book, I must say I learned a lot. Just needs some sprucing up and attention to detail.

I recommend this book for photoshop beginners who are serious about learning how to use the program. I'm a college student and this is one book that I'm certain I'll keep referring back to. Before now, other photoshop "how-to" books seemed to be written for people who already are experts. What good is it to try and fail at some technique because you have not learned the basics? I take into account that I have the CC edition of Photoshop and sometimes do a Google search when I need extra details for CC. Overall, this CS6 version is great. Personally, I need the actual book in my hands so I can flip back and forth easily, as well as a magnifying glass to more easily see the screen shots. This book helps make learning and creating easy and fun.
