Reviews about Time Out Olympic Games Through a Lens Postcard Book (2):

Wonderful, fun overview of Summer Olympics over the decades.
~ Vintage photos of long-ago events, including some sports that are no longer included in the Olympiad ~ dumbbell lifting, anyone? Good representation of Summer sports.
~Shows first women contestants, as well.
~ Informative information about the photo and the event on the back of each card
~The only dud in the group is a photo of the American track medal-winners giving the black power salute at the 1968 Mexico games, an episode that brought dishonor on the athletes, on the US, and on their competitors. Surely there were better photos in the archives that could have been used to honor amazing athletes, rather than to highlight petulant political statements. [Their cause may have been righteous, but the venue for their actions was totally inappropriate.]
~ Competitors from a good representation of countries are included: Great Britain, Italy, Sweden, Romania, USSR [as it was then], Ethiopia, Australia, Jamaica, and the USA

The postcards are easily removed from their binding. Take a pen and draw a line to separate address from note part on the back -- not a big deal, surely.

Now the International Olympic Committee should produce a comparable set for the Winter Games!!!!!!!!

These are great postcards to mail out during this Olympic year. They include one from the 1948 games in London and many more.
