I love this book!...It's so easy to read and it is so dead-on about procrastinators that I have found myself laughing hard at particular passages. I really am admiring the author's wisdom, insights and humor and I am only on page 49. I spent two days looking for a book to help me and my college-aged daughter get things done, and I feel lucky that I picked the right book for us despite there being many, many books on this topic.

It's a rare book that gets 5 stars from me.

This book helps you to see, to think about what actions you are doing to procrastinate and the power of that knowledge will help you to change your bad habits. I'm hopeful....

Do you put off doing today what you could do tomorrow -- or later? Join the human race! If you are a mild procrastinator or just need some organizational advice, this self-help book could help you get to the bottom of your problem and begin to make progress towards your goals. Filled with tips to get you organized and motivated, almost anyone could benefit from some of the advice offered here. I discovered I'm not a true procrastinator, but more of an "overwhelmed procrastinator:" because there are literally too many tasks on my to-do list for any reasonable person to finish, working on one means I must neglect three or four others. Even so, the author had suggestions I found helpful. A few of the suggestions now need updating: for example, the author operates on the assumption that people are working with paper agendas, notebooks and file folders, whereas today most of us work electronically. However, you can easily adapt this advice to the virtual world of e-files and smart phone calendars.

I am a hoarder. Plain and Simple-a hoarder. But only for crafting and sewing things. Needless to say our small apartment is full. If I find things at a yard sale and see something I can repair or remake into something I can resell, it goes home with me.

Now the apartment is so crowded with "stuff" that I have to organize or my husband is going to make me get rid of everything and I just can't have that. My problem with cleaning is 1) I hate cleaning 2) I am horrible at it. 3) I get side tracked and don't get any where. I was looking at quilting books on Amazon.com and saw the Procastinaters Handbook, looked at and read some of the pages and I had to have it. I just knew this book could help me. It has changed my life. I now know that in 30 days I will see a fantastic change in our home. It will take me longer that 30 days to get it done but, it will be done. I never thought it could done.

As other reviewers have pointed out, this book is more a pep talk than a program of action. Its proposals for action won't be any surprise (make a list, set a timer and commit to doing a specific thing for an hour) and the little quotes at the end of every chapter run the gamut from truly inspirational to trite. However, everyone knows what they should be doing; the book aims to make you feel that you can actually do it. To that extent, it's very successful. You finish it feeling energized and capable of doing anything. Time will tell whether the feeling lasts, but at the moment I feel empowered and ready to take on a host of new things. Thanks, Rita Emmett!

We gave this book to our son as a Christmas gift. He laughed when he opened the present as he knows this was one of his faults...didn't learn it from his mom and dad. I think it helped some...he went on to get his bachelor's and master's degree with a 3.98 grade point average...something happened.
