I love this book and stretched the limits of the Kindle highlighting tool while reading it, but the Kindle formatting is just awful. Too many mis-spellings to even count and the insertion of what are surely sidebar quotes right in the middle of text sections with nothing to differentiate them is immensely distracting. Even the chapters sometimes seem to begin of their own in the middle of a page instead of on a new page, with no warning or visible break! If I didn't like this book so much I'd just return it.

I came across Patti Digh's work it when it was mentioned in another book I was reading. This was one of those books that I couldn't put down. It's the kind of book that you'll want to give as a gift to people you care about. I've been fortunate enough to also interview Patti. It's a book we should all read before we die. Beautiful and heartwarming.

I bought this book after my sister gave me rave reviews. I agree with her. Life is so short we all need to live with purpose.
Joy can be found in every day.

Please please please get this book and keep it by your side. It's NOT a self help book. It's a happiness companion. A must have book to use a workbook, a self-motivator, a look on the bright-side book, and a just-what-I-needed-today-book.
I loved this book so much I bought the CD's and downloaded it to my Iphone so I could hear Patti Digh's own voice telling me about how her daughter views the world or how her inspirational friends gave her wisdom by just being.
A must have.
I now listen to Patti's audio books for daily inspiration.

I happened to listen to Patti Digh on a podcast interview and was intrigued about her books. So, never having enough books, I ordered Life is a Verb. Let me just say I love this book. I ordered the Kindle version and loved it so much that I also ordered a copy of the book for myself and a friend. I love writing in books so I'm sure there will be a lot of dog-earred pages. Each chapter of this book contains a different life lesson. At the end of each chapter are exercises that allow you to go even deeper into your personal life. Love, love, love it!!

I was mesmerized by this book. I first bought it on Kindle and found that I couldn't see all the art well enough and so bought the real paper version. I wanted to write in the margins, just as the author suggests. The book will make you laugh, cry, and realize many things about yourself and your life that will lift you up. I have used so many of the poems from the book to make points in my daily writing and to clarify thoughts. It has touched me deeply.

Great read with lots of stories to challenge you while at the same time leave their mark. The author seems approachable and friendly in her writing style. I love the visual attraction of the book and the author has scored a "10" with the format. I have purchased several copies for friends as gifts. Even if you do not agree with every view point there is value in seeing some things from another's perspective - this book highlighted that aspect for me. I have thought about some of the content long after I closed the book and will at times refer to it I am sure.
I know as a busy mom she is always working hard and striving to be the best ....we need sometimes to stop and think about how to celebrate the small daily experiences and live with joy and appreciation now. We are so busy working to raise our family then all of a sudden they are gone. Live now, that is what I am hoping the book will help her with. Joy now, laugh now, and love every imperfect moment of your precious life.
