Newlyweds of Convenience. Mine is a West Highland white terrier called Mungo, now rather elderly, who sleeps under my feet while I’m writing. Mallory’s Charlie is a mutt, but no less lovable. He’s actually named after a cat, my much-loved tabby, Charlie, who, sadly, had to be put to sleep just before I began writing this book. I spent so much time thinking about Mallory and how important her dog was to her that I was nearly as fond of the fictional Charlie as of the real one by the time I’d finished! Jessica. I have re-read this several times, and it's as wonderful as the first time. I wish this had been one of Ms Hart's later books where we knew Torr's thoughts. A few of the things I would have changed...the tiny diamond necklace...she could have sold it to get a wedding ring for Torr to, or found out is was fake and worthless so she could have gotten over her ex even faster. When they go to dinner in Iverness, either she could have gotten to the bar first and Torr had to stop another man trying to "pick her up" or if he had gotten to the bar first, all conversation would stop and eyes turn to her when she enters the room (okay, a little too Pretty Woman-ish). I recommend this for a nice Harlequin read.

I don't normally read romance novels, but this one sounded kind of interesting. Mallory McIver is an interior designer that has her own successful business. Her life is turned upside down when she falls in love with Steve.. a con-artist that preys on unsuspecting women. He convinces Mallory to invest in a joint venture to restore old buildings. Mallory talks a client into investing in the venture also. Steve suddenly disappears, leaving Mallory with massive debts and a tarnished reputation. The client investor, Torr makes a deal with Mallory. He will pay off her debts if she will marry him and entertain his business clients. Mallory still reeling of the loss of Steve, agrees and Marries Torr. As the title indicates, the marriage is strictly for convenience, with no romance.

When Torr inherits a dilapidated castle in rural Scotland, he decides to move from the city and work on restoring the castle. He coerces Mallory to join him. They finally reach an agreement that she will help him with the restoration work for 1 year then she wants a divorce. Working together and bonding, Mallory and Torr get to know each other on a more personal level. They finally decide to pursue a sexual relationship with no strings attached. Will they be able to maintain a platonic relationship with benefits (oxymoron)? Newlyweds of Convenience

I was looking for a new author when I stumbled across "Newlyweds of Convenience" as a free read on my Kindle. It didn't take much time to find myself not wanting to put the book down. I loved the references to Scotland castles. I found myself looking at more of Jessica Hart's books now that I've sampled this book. Enjoy!

This was an okay book but very one dimensional. The entire story was told from the heroines point of view. You were never given insight to how he felt.

If you don't mind everything from one view it was an okay read.

I love all romance novels, and this was no disappointment

A five star review for a book I picked up to read on Kindle and didn't lay down until I finished it in one sitting. There aren't many books that can do that to me. This is my first Jessica Hart and definitely not the last.
