The Unlikely Santa I didn't love this book and I think because it's dated, it wouldn't work today at al. Glam Squad & Groomsmen (Enchanted Bridal Series).

She then marries the H. +++Spoilers+++ There are some pretty tacky moments like the h calling out her ex's name when she makes love to the H. Also the ex is the sleaziest guy and wants to have the h on the side . sleep with both sisters. This wasn't the best story in the bundle. The Unlikely Santa I didn't love this book and I think because it's dated, it wouldn't work today at all. The h is the manager of an upmarket department store when the H comes along applying for the job of Santa over the Christmas period.

The book is pretty slow going and the hero is very eccentric. I do like that he is not a playboy or a womanizer. It is endearing because it seems all the romances have to have a hero who has a different woman every night, but this one is addicted to his programs. He is geeky but not in an unattractive way. He has the personality to pull it off, he is quirky and funny. The heroine was a bit annoying because she tosses her family name around like it has merit when it does not anymore and has not in a long time. I also did not feel the love between them. He liked teasing her and she got exasperated with it and him. It felt like a friendship at best! The only reason I knew he loved her all along was because of the previous reviewer mentioning it. It was too rushed at the end as well and I just did not see any romance gestures between them and all the lies told from him for amusement purposes was ridiculous. He lied to her the ENTIRE time that he knew her, which was fine because it was his choice whether to let it be known about his family. It just got aggravating when he actually started to try to manipulate her with those lies...then it was beyond wrong of him!!!! Needless to say that he was no longer eccentric towards the end and the book was not that good. I would not reread it and what made me like the hero was gone so the story ended up being blase!

Leigh Michaels always has a lot of humor and funny moments in her writing, making it very enjoyable; sometimes challenging, and realistic, yet making us feel the story and the interactions and wanting to advise, help or just laugh. This is another look at man/woman relationships and the tangled webs we weave in order to get our (supposed) desired outcome, and overcoming preconceived ideas and plans; also in finding understanding of what we truly want from relationships and life and admitting our weaknesses, our strengths, our true desires and our hopes. Of course, a neat and happy ending.

I am a longtime Leigh Michaels fan and this is one of my favorites by her. The characters are very likeable and pretty believable (although SPOILER!!!! Keir's pretense does get a little old) and the romance sweet. Co-worker or friends relationships are my favorite themes, and this story covers both. It's nice to have a story with a strong woman who is struggling financially but maintains her independence. My only criticism is that I kind of wish the romance happened a little sooner in the book.

He'd been offered the deal of a lifetime... But Keir Saunders needed something extra to really impress his prospective business partners. He needed the perfect business accessory-a wife! And who better than his office manager, Jessica? She was smart, beautiful, and would add the finishing touch to Keir's corporate image! The marriage merger: There was just one problem. This marriage couldn't be a hostile takeover-Jessica had to agree to Keir's terms. And Jessica was adamant that her job discription didn't include making wedding plans with the boss! Leigh Michaels does it again with a a delightful romatic comedy that will captivate you from page one.
