I bought this book to go along with a class being taught in my church on how to pray. After all these years (60+) I thought I knew how, but there is amazing insight and wonder in this book. It's not your average teachings, written by the founders of Unity (not Unitarian) church. If you're searching for something a little different, you have found it in this book.

I have an early hardback edition of this book - found in a used book sale many years ago. In my opinion, a seminal work on the subject, life-changing. Purchased some recently as gifts to some friends. My only quibble: This is apparently a "print-on-demand" edition, sparsely formatted, and a far cry physically from the earlier hardback editions (which I was unable to find this time around). The content is nevertheless just as relevant. (Really do wish the publishers would re-issue a well edited & formatted version -- soft OR hardback -- worthy of the value it represents for readers.)

I have not read Unity writings for quite some time, and I am so happy I decided to re-read this one. This time I'm reading it on my Kindle Fire HD, which is so wonderful. His ideas reignite understandings in me and help me remember why I have always been so fond of Unity. I have found myself in deep and meaningful moments while reading this book, touched at the core.

This book contains valuable & enlightening information. A group of friends and myself have been meeting once a week for years to study spiritual information and guidance. We have used many books to help guide us along that path. 'The Twelve Powers' absolutely ranks very high on our list of most informative and easy to understand. Plus the questions at the end of each chapter are a perfect aid for making sure the most important parts of the chapter are clear.

This has got to be one the best book on prayer I have ever read, hands down. The understanding that Fillmore brings out concerning how the kingdom of God is at the center of mans soul and must be sought by true prayer( removing error and implanting truth) in order for us to be able to live godly lives is priceless. Being a person who does intensive biblical research, even studying other sacred Christian text(text not found in the bible, I can say that a lot of the teaching of fillmore are in perfect alignment with books like.....the gospel of Apostle Thomas, The gospel of Truth, The teaching of Silvanus, and certain parts of the gospel of Philip........I would recommend this work to any person who is serious about understanding the truth concerning prayer.
