Carved Histories: Rotorua. Roger Neich is an anthropologist specializing in Maori art. He is the curator of ethnology at the Auckland War Memorial Museum, a professor of anthropology at the University of Auckland, and the former ethnologist at the National Museum of New Zealand. He is the author of Pacific Jewellery and Adornment, Pacific Tapa, Painted Histories: Early Maori Figurative Painting, and Traditional Tapa Textiles of the Pacific.
