Keep in mind this book was written a number of years ago, and the author writes loosely. Sort of like a chat at home with her, and I found the mitten pattern I really was looking for to be jumbled and somewhat unclear. I "doctored" it on my own to make it work better. I was lucky to have a copy of Ann Budd's " The Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns" for my mitten/gauge base and was able to "fix" the pattern to work. Otherwise, it's a nice book, interesting, historical, and pleasant information about her process for each pattern. I'll keep it.

Purchased a used copy and it makes sense that the pages are loose. Even a new copy would probably lose pages as they are just glued in the middle, rather than bound.
