I highly recommend this book. Too many therapists either do not consult with psychological tests at all, or misuse them. This book teaches the practitioner how to enhance psychological assessment by collaborating with the client and together co-constructing a diagnostic understanding that is more valid and useful.

I'm a big fan of Stephen Finn and Constance Fischer. They understand assessment, but more important, they understand how to be experts who explicitly collaborate with clients. Their method engages clients and consequently enhances the quality of the assessment data collected. Collaborative/Therapeutic Assessment is ultimately a method through which clients are empowered to move toward positive change.
