One of my favorite past times is listening to other people's stories. The women Ms. Aggeles interviewed could have been someone you smiled at as you walked down the street, or said "excuse me" as you passed carts in the aisle of the grocery store, or sat at the next table at a local restaurant and you would have never guessed the exciting stories they had lived to tell! This pays homage to the old saying that you can never judge a book by its cover. Ms. Aggeles made me feel I was sitting alongside her as she was interviewing these incredible women. I loved that she included women from different war eras as well as including an African American woman's experiences. Thank you for a wonderfully written account of an important part of our history!

This is a very inspirational book. It demonstrates the willingness of American women to respond to the needs of their country in time of war.
These women served in unspeakable conditions and some were also prisoners of war. Our nation owes them a great gratitude!

Ms Aggeles takes the stories of several World War 11 nurses and brings these stories to life. These are amazing women who long before main stream America caught up selflessly gave of their time and sometimes their lives to "bring em back alive" when possible and if not comfort our boys to the end. The pictures from the war era nurses are a wonderful supplement to a book that finally says "thank you" to the nurses who gave so much.

It is amazing how this author has taken the reader along with her as she interviews these nurses. This book was written by an author who understands and appreciates what these nurses went through. It is amazing to read this piece of history and feel that we have been blessed to hear each of their stories through Ms. Aggeles book.
