Some people are under the impression that America's foreign policy was shaped in 1945. This paints a very different picture, showing the Navy's role in shaping both domestic and foreign policy since the country's inception. Reading this was quite eye opening to me, because I was taught history from a multi-faceted multi-cultural viewpoint that, viewed in tandem, didn't make a whole lot of sense.
