Malahelm
Used this for my criminal justice class. Covers the stages of the criminal justice system and important agentencies and policies.
Gaua
There is a newer edition of this book.

I do not like how it is written. There are typos, it repeats itself in a way that does not tie the topic into the previous mention of the topic. Which serves to make it confusing. This also impacts the organization of the book.

I understand it is a complex topic, but I believe it could be written in a more precise, easier to understand manner. Especially for an introductory level book.
Hap

Siegel brings the world of CJ to people like on one else can. he is excellent at taking what would be incredibly complicated concepts and making them easy for anyone to understand yet maintain a complete and rich text that has everything an undergrad CJ class would need.
