For the amateur graded up to 2000 this book takes a turn off the main highways and offers good attacking chances for the second player. If you don't want to bogged down with theory and take the QGD player out of his comfort zone, then this book is well worth considering. The author takes a realistic approach in as much that not all the games are win for the black pieces! Good value for money.

This is a rare book on a rare defense. It's easy to read as you would expect from Andy Soltis. There are 5 chapters of analysis with illustrative games following each chapter (24 games total). The layout is a little strange with the Table of Contents being in the back of the book. The book is marred by a fair number of typos.
