I marveled at how well they played the game. And as you read this book, my greatest hope is that you understand and practice Coach Smith’s life principles. They even pointed to the person who gave them the pass then when they were pros! I knew it was Coach Smith who taught them how to play the game so well. When I was seventeen, I was the ball boy for the famous NC State–Maryland game in the ACC finals in 1974. Some still call it the greatest ACC game ever. Especially, I hope you realize what’s most important in life is how you play the game.

Agreed, I've played basketball games where I dominated, but we lost, or my team well and we still lost, so I think it's just how you play the game, kind of depends on the refs too, they usually suck though, and the crowd getting into.

Agreed, I've played basketball games where I dominated, but we lost, or my team well and we still lost, so I think it's just how you play the game, kind of depends on the refs too, they usually suck though, and the crowd getting into the game can help decide whether you win or lose. It depends, if your getting something for winning than I disagree. If your just playing a friendly game then I agree.

It is with admiration and gratitude that I recommend this book to anyone who sees themselves as a leader and . It's about how Dean Smith used sport to teach invaluable life lessons to young men laying the foundations of their lives.

It is with admiration and gratitude that I recommend this book to anyone who sees themselves as a leader and wants to lead with head, hands and heart. David has a remarkable way of weaving his experience as a player and subsequent years as a leader with what he learned under Coach Smith. The 12 Leadership Principles can be a shot in the arm during a challenging day or a playbook over a lifetime for leadership and life. Yes, I've always been an admirer of Coach Smith, but this book by Dave Chadwick really makes me miss Coach and his ways even more.
