I bought this book as a more advanced introduction to Fluid Dynamics after I had already taken a course in Fluid Dynamics during my early undergraduate career (and forgotten a good amount of it). Particularly, I was interested in learning more about turbulent flow, shockwaves, detonation, and more advanced topics in Fluid Dynamics for a course in the theory of supernovae. This book excellently and thoroughly covers these topics both in a mathematically sound and excellent way, as well as well-describing the phenomenology behind the explained topics.

there is no better aid than Landau and Liftshitz's 'Fluid Mechanics'' Journal of Fluid Mechanics. Has lasting value as a reference text' The International Journal of Heat and Fluid Flow show more. This book will find its place on the shelves of all libraries covering the mechanics of liquids and gases' Mathematics Abstracts. A classic in the field of fluid mechanics' IOP Publishing Ltd.

Volume 6 covers fluid mechanics in a condensed but varied exposition, from ideal to viscous fluids, includes a chapter on. .Volume 9 builds on the original statistical physics book, with more applications to condensed matter theory.

Volume 6 covers fluid mechanics in a condensed but varied exposition, from ideal to viscous fluids, includes a chapter on relativistic fluid mechanics, and another on superfluids. Volume 7. L. D. Landau, E. M. Lifshitz (1959).

The fluid mechanics book list you need for studying and understanding CFD. All the books you need, divided . This article discusses fluid mechanics books and the relevant literature pertaining to different areas of CFD that would be of interest to learners. All the books you need, divided based on different areas of fluid mechanics. Starting from basic thermodynamics and dimensional analysis, the article continues to address sources related to incompressible and compressible flows, viscous flows and boundary layers, acoustics, turbomachinery, and eventually turbulence.

An Introduction to the Mechanics of Fluids by Edwin H. Barton - Longmans, Green, 1915 In writing this book, while preserving the usual rigour, the endeavour has been made to impart to it by the character of the illustrations and examples, a modern and practical flavour which will render it more widely useful.
