Zenna Chlarson Henderson (November 1, 1917 – May 11, 1983) was an American elementary school teacher and science fiction and fantasy author. Her first story was published in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction in 1951. Her work is cited as pre-feminist, often featuring middle-aged women, children, and their relationships, but with stereotyped gender roles. Many of her stories center around humanoid aliens called "The People" who have special powers

This is the third time I've had to replace this book! Once because it got so worn from constant reading that it was falling apart and twice more because someone pinched it!!! Great inspirational and heartwarming reading for all ages.

The stories of Zenna Henderson have been favorites of mine for a long time. If I were to publish this book there are a couple of stories I might leave out, but there are several that should be required reading for folks considering working with children...of all ages! I buy copies of this book, when I can find them, and share them prolifically with people I think might enjoy them...people whose hearts are likely to be touched much the same as mine.
Note to holder of copyrights...PLEASE PUBLISH THIS BOOK ONCE AGAIN!!! THE SAME WITH HOLDING WONDER!!! Bring these "Old Friends" back!

This book is one of my favorite short story collections in the entire scifi universe. I read it as a small child and was horrified by "Hush," and as an adult, was still horrified. Henderson has the ability to delight and fill with wonder in one story, and terrify the socks off you in the next. This copy was crisp and clear. Excellent condition.

I first read "The Anything Box" when I was eleven. My mother bought it for me from a used book store, and I was blown away by its collection of short stories. They stirred my mind and inspired me. I lost that original copy some time ago, but thankfully I was able to find it here! I will cherish it, always.

I read this book when I was a kid and I wanted it again. It really is a cool book with lots of interesting short stories in it.
