It is part of rock and roll history i like the book it was worth what i paid for i. Jim Miller's piece on the Beach Boys was brilliant, as was Bud Scoppa's take on the Byrds. But the big boys tend to bloviate rather than say anything credible, let alone insightful.
2 people found this helpful. Get a load of Robert Christgau comparing Chuck Berry to Proust! What, Lieber and Stoller weren't good enough? And I don't even want to talk about Lester Bang's quickie hatchet-job on the Doors. Still this book gave me a lot of happy hours as a teen. 2 people found this helpful.
It is part of rock and roll history i like the book it was worth what i paid for i. The book peaks with the Woodstock Era, but takes us up to around the end of the 70's, around the days of Led Zeppelin and the birth of heavy metal.
