Naked Places is the gay man’s guide to nude recreation around the world, with emphasis on sites in the United States. I also enjoy nude beaches and other outdoor activities that afford a place to lose the clothing.

Naked Places is the gay man’s guide to nude recreation around the world, with emphasis on sites in the United States. Michael Boyd has gone through with a fine-tooth comb, weeding out locations you would never visit anyway, and updated info about naturist areas worldwide. I was pleasantly surprised when information about our local nude hangout, which has a tendency to move around as authorities and others stick their noses in our business, was absolutely accurate.

Naked Places is the only nude recreation guide written specifically for gay me. Not so with Naked Places. The directions are precise and on target, even for places abroad.

could be a lot more entries, but good for what it is. I know it is hard to keep these kinds of publications up to date.
Nagis
I love this book. It gives me a perfect idea about naked places that I have yet to travel to in my life.
Doukasa
This book does an excellent job of covering beaches and businesses that cater to gay naked places for men. The only thing I would have liked to have seen better coverage of were the hot springs locations.

Good Job!!!

The information is hard to keep up to date. Interesting reading but do not depend on the without checking out up to date info on the web. Not really worth the money

This is a very outdated guide. Its publish date is 16 years ago. Since a lot changes in 16 years time, this guide is of little use.

I own both the first and second editions of this book, and, although the first edition was outstanding, the second edition seems to truly leave no stone unturned. There are nudist places where I would never expect to find them. My lover was downright shocked to learn that there is a gay nudist resort/campground in Iowa about 30 miles from where he grew up, but we haven't had the opportunity to go there yet (for the first time, we're both actually looking forward to visiting his relatives since we found out about it!). Although we haven't traveled since the second edition came out, we used the first edition on several trips. My lover and I found some wonderful hidden nude beaches in New England last summer, and we used the book to explore nude beaches and resorts in Hawaii the year before that. We're looking forward to using the book later this year for our first trip to Europe. Besides giving a large number of listings (both for beaches and for resorts, guesthouses, etc.), this book gives quality information for each listing. If you're going to go somewhere like Palm Springs where there are lots of gay resorts to choose from, you can look over the listings to narrow down your choices since each listing tells you things like prices, whether the clientele is all gay men or whatever, whether the resort has amenities like a pool, hot tub, and so on, what the sexual temperature of the place is (very important if you're into naughty fun like my lover and I are!), and exactly where you are allowed to go naked. The directions given to nude beaches are also excellent. On our New England trip, we found all the places we looked for with no problem. There is also lots of info about gay nudist clubs and some information on non-gay places that attract lots of gay men, like public pools that allow nude swimming (most are in Europe, unfortunately). The book is very well organized and very intelligently written. Like any good travel guide, the book does a great job of answering questions before you even think of them. I most highly recommend this book both for serious nudists and for guys who are just curious or who just dabble in nudist activities now and then; you don't have to be a "hardcore" nudist to get a lot of use out of this book. My lover and I have lived as nudists for six years and own several books about nudist travel and the nudist lifestyle, but Naked Places is clearly the best, both because of the vast amount of information it contains and because it is written by a gay man for a gay male audience.
I love to travel to places where I can hang out at the pool naked and read a book. I also enjoy nude beaches and other outdoor activities that afford a place to lose the clothing.

I own all editions of this book and I have to say that this update was well worth the wait.

Boyd has also taken the time to research all of these areas and added latitude/longitude coordinates so you can pull them up on Google Earth. I can't even imagine how long that took.

There are hundreds of bed & breakfasts, campgounds, tours and sailing trips listed in the book.

If you like to get naked and like to travel, you'll love this book.
