My sister & brother in law, there 10 year old daughter and me & my 7 year old son climbed Ben Nevis! We were extremely lucky and had amazing weather all the way to the top and back, it was hard work but we all had proper shoes/boots, walking sticks, plenty of food and water and coffee! Sun cream was needed too as it was a scorcher of a day!

The rock climbing on Ben Nevis fits nicely into four categories . John Cunningham Climbing Ben Nevis 1976.

The rock climbing on Ben Nevis fits nicely into four categories: 1. The Great Ridges. Alpine in stature, imposing and elegant in appearance, the four great ridges of the Ben are superb experiences to climb. There are also the superb selected Scottish Rock guides, which are a great choice for a visiting climber and cover the whole of Scotland in two volumes. Their modern, full colour photo topos are top notch and the books really open a window on Scottish climbing. Scottish Rock Volume 1 (South) covers Ben Nevis as well as giving all the lowland cragging options in case of bad weather.

Ben Nevis: Britain's Highest Mountain is an epic story recounting the history, the challenges, hardships, adventures and joyous moments of seemingly every famous climber; plus poets, geologists, map makers and pioneering meteorologists. Inspiring forewords from Jimmy Marshall and Ian Parnell exlain perfectly why the Ben is among the best mountains for climbing in the world and why it is now so popular.

Conditioning for Climbers is the first book to help climbers of all ages and experience design and follow their own . This is a comprehensive guide that I would recommend to anyone that wants to improve their climbing.

Conditioning for Climbers is the first book to help climbers of all ages and experience design and follow their own comprehensive, personalized exercise program. Part I covers the basics of physical conditioning, including tools for self assessment and goal-setting. Part II takes readers through warm-up and flexibility routines, entry-level strength training, weight-loss tips, and core-conditioning exercises. The book has a lot of focus on injury prevention, sport specific conditioning (obviously), general conditioning, nutrition and training micro and macro cycles.

Ben Nevis in winter is always a challenge. The track soon climbed and my legs felt heavy. 7. The climbers knew about the danger in taking the Tower Ridge path

Ben Nevis in winter is always a challenge. Being the weakest member of the group, I had to rest more frequently. The others sometimes stopped for a break to let me catch up, but as soon as I reached them they set off again. I promised myself that in future I would always train properly before a climb. The climbers knew about the danger in taking the Tower Ridge path. 10. The writer began to relax when he reached the top of the mountain.
