Art & Architecture of Cambodia (World of Art). With the exception of one modern Indonesian painter and a few 14th Century Thai bronzes, one would gather from Rawson that art stopped in Southeast Asia about 1200.
Art & Architecture of Cambodia (World of Art). Helen Ibbitson Jessup. This book was originally published in 1967, and a number of Rawson's opinions and his general attitude seem somewhat out of date. He provides almost no description of the "craft" arts, and very little cross-cultural comparison.

Part of the problem is that there has been so little written about SouthEast Asian art for the general reader in the past 20 years or so (Rawson's book is ancient). Compare that with the hundreds of books on China. This author covers much of the shift in attention now being paid to vernacular arts and other less "Indianized" topics (though these are covered quite generously), and is, in that sense "post-modern".
Arts of Southeast Asia (World of Art). Buddhist Art and Architecture (World of Art). I enjoyed this book principally because the authors writng style, the very relevant and numerous illustrations and photographs and of course the wealth of interesting information that has opened up a deeper understanding of this subject for me.
