First off, this book is designed to be used with the 3rd edition of the PMBoK, not the 4th edition. The book is also full of serious typos that can affect your ability to take some of the tests. For instance, one of the test questions has the same answer choices repeated. The questions and the material covered in the book are not that bad, but this book does not have the polish and material needed for someone to feel at ease taking the CAPM.

I would recommmend another book that will give sample questions along with a more detailed explanation about the flow charts which will give you fits if you rely on this book to help prep for the test.

It's kind of ironic how useful,yet how full of errors this the book is. Errors of all types are in this book, grammatical, references, etc - you name it. It has it. You would think a book about project management would of undergone a quality control process...*cough*

With that said, the questions are decent, and plentiful. It is good to focus in on the areas where you need some work.

Also, this book is mainly about test questions. So you'll need to pick up the Rita book or the PMBOK (!) as well.

Excellent book. I only wish that the answers to the exam simulation questions were on the same page, for study purposes, but it's ok.
Should be read along Paul Sanghera's other book: PMP In Depth: Project Management Professional Study Guide for PMP and CAPM Exams.
Those two make a winning combination for passing the exam.
It gives you a complete and clear link to the knowledge areas, and explains all the answers to the exam simulation questions, so you have a better understanding of what the correct answer is, and why.
Personally, I think is the best book for CAPM aspiring students.

I just bought this book and am very disappointed, the wording of the questions are so bad it is impossible to answer them correctly. It is like this book was written in another language and then poorly translated. Also the explanations for the answers are incredibly vague. For example, when explaining who the key stakeholders are in a project his explanation is simply "because they are the key stakeholders." extremely disappointed almost to the point of returning this book!

It is not helpful today. It was written for a former test edition, the concepts of the third PMBOK(R) Edition have changed, today standard is the PMBOK(R) Fifth Edition. Do not buy it as a study guide for the CAPM Test it will not help you.

The content was decent in prepping you for the exam but I did find a lot of typos through the book which decreased it's credibility so I returned it. I ended up using Rita's book and passed the CAPM on the first try.

Read the descriptions closely when looking for a study guide... I did not realize one this old would be available for sale. I just wasted my money on a download.
While this book covered the basics, it was FULL of errors: spelling, grammatical and formatting. There were even some "answers" that were wrong. For example, I marked a question "B", the answer section in the back reads "Correct answer: A. The reason answer B is correct..." That occured at least 3 times.
Now, since I did not use this book as my sole guide (you HAVE to use the PMBoK) I was able to find these errors quickly, but it made it very frustrating.
Also, it advertises that it explains why wrong answers are wrong. The explanation of why answers are wrong would be some variation of this statement: "The reason answers A,B and C are wrong is because they are incorrect." Instead it should have said something like "Answer A is wrong because that term relates to this particular theory" (or something of the like)
I would have also liked to see a section dedicated to the particular formulas and maybe even a whole practice test designed for the formulas.
Another thing that would have been useful is a glossary section or something of the like.
While i DID pass the CAPM, and while this was an OK tool to help me study, i did NOT find it to be all that exceptional and if i had to give my advice, spend the $30 on a different
