Kale
A really excellent sociological and anthropological look at the meatpacking industry. Brief, easy to read, and relevant. My only real complaint is that Stull and Broadway's analysis lacks any consideration of feminist issues -- they mention that domestic violence becomes the number one reported crime in communities where the livestock industry builds plants, and then fail to address women's issues in their four recommendations for communities affected by the industry. Although this is a serious oversight, I still think this is one of the best texts available on the subject, and I highly recommend it.

This book was great for a paper in a college class for a 300 level class, its easy to read.

This book turned me vegetarian (and vegan for a while). I had this professor my first year in college and he is fantastic. The book is as well.

I haven't read this yet, but I'm getting it for Christmas, and it should be just as good as the other slaughterhouse books! Read it if you want to learn about how badly animals are treated inside slaughterhouses!
