I was surprised to read Wesley's writings as if he was speaking out today. His views on modern medicine of his time expressed many of the concerns that we now have. So little has changed in almost 300 years with our medical system's love for money and creating "smoke-screens" that confuse people in believing that their methods are far superior to the common sense methods that are far less expensive and far more effective. Likely George Washington would have lived many more years had he read and followed the teachings of John Wesley instead of listening to the physicians who advised him to blood-let and use toxic mercury. Today we use more advanced poisons and methodology, e.g., chemotherapy and radiation of which is no more effective and highly non-affordable. The remedies he suggests in overcoming specific sicknesses are relevant and helpful as well. The book is a little challenging to read as it is written in the old style but is easily translated.

A great glimpse into the past and early medicinal 18th century remedies, written by John Wesley - the father of Methodism.
