David Allen Sibley (born 22 October 1961, in Plattsburgh, New York) is an American ornithologist. He is the author and illustrator of The Sibley Guide to Birds, which rivals Roger Tory Peterson's as the most comprehensive guides for North American ornithological field identification. The son of Yale University ornithologist Fred Sibley, David Sibley began birding in childhood. Sibley got his start as a birdwatcher in Cape May Point, New Jersey in 1980, after dropping out of college. He is the recipient of the Roger Tory Peterson Award for Lifetime Achievement from the American Birding Association and the Linnaean Society of New York's Eisenmann Medal.

Very nice poster. I got this for my son to put near the window where the bird feeder is so we can all start learning to identify birds. We are in southern RI. The pictures are very accurate and we have already learned to spot a few different birds from the poster. I did end up getting a poster frame for it (just a cheap plastic one) and it looks great in the frame. I would definitely recommend this poster for any bird fan or anyone trying to learn to identify backyard birds.

I knew a lot of birds came to the feeder by my window but after buying this chart and marking it I was so surprised at the variety. Counted 18 including 4 kinds of woodpeckers. flickers, nuthatches,redwinged black birds.

I absolutely love this poster! I have this framed in a vintage gold poster frame I found at goodwill and it makes it look a little more grown up and oh so classy. We love bird watching, so it's also a lovely reflection of our personalities and interests- a fun addition to our living room. .

This is a great reference chart for casual birdwatchers. We put this in a white poster frame and hung it right near where we watch birds. Have used it many, many times, and still do. The illustrations are colorful and detailed. You can see the relative size of the birds as they made them proportionate. Helps us identify birds, and they fit quite a few on the poster. It is region specific too, so very relevant to what we see.

Sibley is the go-to authority on birds. This complements his wild bird guide nicely and is pleasing to look at. We got it framed (for 10x what the poster cost) because to us it is wall art worthy of framing.

Like other reviewer I've read, I took this poster directly to Michael's and had it framed (boy,it was expensive). I consider it worth the expense as the poster is lovely and and informative. I especially like that the comparative size of the birds is shown. It's a quick and convenient for a newish birder like me.
Given to my elderly mother to aid in easy identification of birds at her feeder.
