Data representation is a transformation of our experience of the real world into a computational domain.

Data representation is a transformation of our experience of the real world into a computational domain. As such, it must comply with models and rules to provide us with useful information. Three representation methods-probability measures, Dempster-Shafer belief functions, and membership functions in fuzzy sets-and their corresponding estimation procedures are presented here with analyses of the implications and of the assumptions that are required in each approach to thematic mapping.

These data do not belong in our computers-they belong in our hands. 3-D printing is useful. In the geosciences, we struggle with a fundamental problem-. The power of computers to make accurate and speedy calculations on 3-D data sets is impossible for humans to match. Likewise, the power of the human mind and its sensory system to perceive qualitative aspects of physical objects is currently beyond computers. we love nature, but its aspects can be truly enormous or fantasti-. cally miniscule, very far away or exceedingly rare.

Some of the first geological thoughts were about the origin of the Earth. This questioning represented a turning point in the study of the Earth. It was now possible to study the history of the Earth from a scientific perspective without religious preconceptions

Some of the first geological thoughts were about the origin of the Earth. Ancient Greece developed some primary geological concepts concerning the origin of the Earth. Additionally, in the 4th century BC Aristotle made critical observations of the slow rate of geological change. It was now possible to study the history of the Earth from a scientific perspective without religious preconceptions. With the application of scientific methods to the investigation of the Earth's history, the study of geology could become a distinct field of science.

This is the raw data which is supplied for processing & obtaining information. This is the most crucial step as it allows for the processed data in the form of output which will be used further. Processing is usually done by CPU (Central Processing Unit) in a computer. CPU is the crucial component for getting the operations done.

Geology is an earth science concerned with the solid Earth, the rocks of which it is composed, and the processes by which they change over time. Modern geology significantly overlaps all other earth sciences, including hydrology and the atmospheric sciences, and so is treated as one major aspect of integrated earth system science and planetary science.
