Everything Bug: What Kids. I got this for my two boys ages 4 and 5. While the specific reading may not be for much older kids, I think what's presented can generate questions and interest, even for me. It's fun stuff and the boys really like it. There is a good variety of critters and topics. Seems to be well made and will not be torn up as quickly as some of the other books they use a lot.

Everything Bug by Cherie Winner, Non Fiction. It has almost 30 facts about bugs and makes comparisons of spiders and insects which the students can learn about. the book also addresses some misconceptions about bugs. Its a great book for all levels. The teaching point of this book is to teach children about insects and spiders in an engaging and interesting way to younger ages, including pictures and fun facts. My 8-year-old nephew is obsessed with bugs, insects, and spiders. He lives in Czech Republic and is just learning to read English, so this was the perfect gift for him. I sent it along with the Backyard Safari Field Scope and he was thrilled.

THIS BOOK IS A "HOME RUN"!! It's great for people of any age..
I did buy this book for my 10yr old nephew, but when I received it, after skimming thru the pages, I became interested in the colorful detail of the pictures, and the interesting facts about the animals-- as an educated 65 yr old adult, I was presented with specific insect and spider facts.. that I had been unaware of before. This is a great companion for the set of real insects encased in plastic cubes that I also purchased for my nephew.. EXCELLENT --CHOICES!!!

My 7 yr old grandson who loves insects of all kinds, really liked this book about bugs. It is now part of his "go to" books, when he wants to identify a bug. He learns all about the bug and has a great time reading about them.

Many children are fascinated by by small creatures that creep and crawl (and some fly), but not all these are bugs. The information about the 'creepy crawlies' in this book is interesting for the children - particularly boys - but as a biologist I feel it's wrong to call all these animals 'bugs'. It gives incorrect information.
