I have found this book to be the most informative book I have on diabetes. It covers type 1 and type 2, everything from foods and carbs to infections, pregnancy, illness, insulin use and also lists information on most of the medications. Easy to understand but very though. I have picked this book up repeatedly when I had a question and a friend recently was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes so I purchased the book for her so she could have her questions answered. I highly recommend it. You will go back to this book many times over for reference.

This is an excellent book not only for those living with diabetes but for family members as well who want a better understanding of this disease. My mother has had diabetes for a long while, and she had been struggling to bring her A1c hemoglobin levels down for a year or so. This book was immensely helpful to me, and I was even able to give my mother several helpful hints with regards to diet, pricking herself, and giving herself insulin injections. The endocrinologist seemed really surprised/ pleased at my good questions during my mother's last visit, and I pulled out this book to show it to him. I am so thankful for this book - can't recommend it enough!

This book is very informative and up to date even though it was originally published in the 80's. It covers all the stages from pre-diabetes to brittle diabetes. It has been helpful to me as I want to be as proactive as possible with my climbing pre-diabetes numbers. It is well organized and easy to get to the info you are looking for.
