Michael George Bowen (23 April 1930 – 17 October 2019) was a British prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Archbishop of Southwark from 1977 to 2003, having previously served as Bishop of Arundel and Brighton. Michael Bowen was born in Gibraltar on 23 April 1930 and was a wine merchant before being ordained to the priesthood on 6 July 1958.

Michael Bowen is a practicing lawyer who specializes in commercial litigation and arbitration, and lender liability. Bowen continues the series with Faithfully Executed. In addition to writing legal-related books, he is also the author of a number of mystery novels, many of which draw on his legal and political knowledge. Several novels by Bowen feature Richard Michaelson, a retired Foreign Service diplomat, and his friend Marjorie Randolph. The book delves into some of the political questions looming in real life as it questions whether it might be possible to rig the results of an election using computers.
