After an endless day touring properties, the sight of all those anxious faces lingered. Exhausted as Callie was, she couldn’t seem to relax tide her over until her assistant Anna could send her own things. Now she paced Miss Margaret’s house, flipped the television channels without seeing, picked up three different books from the shelves and none of them snagged her attention. She wasn’t hungry, and try as she might to focus on her career, not a single plan to rescue it would form

Special Forces veteran Roman Gallardo is a ghost. James Parker won't give up on his wife, Bella. Not after everything they've been through together

Special Forces veteran Roman Gallardo is a ghost. With the nightmares of his past weighing him down, the best thing he can do is keep to himself. So when a heroic act forces him out of solitude, he's not expecting a connection to a woman as vibrant and alive as Jenna MacAllister. Or as determined to help other people, no matter how hopeless, no matter the cost to herself. Not after everything they've been through together. What started as an unlikely marriage between a blue blood and a rebel blossomed like the gardens Bella cultivates. But she can't remember any of it.

The Price He Paid by Jean Brashear is a standalone, such a powerful, emotional story and totally not what I. .If you have read Jean Brashear's Sweetgrass Springs series or Texas Heroes, this is not that type of book. I can't say that I enjoyed it, but I can say the book is well written.

The Price He Paid by Jean Brashear is a standalone, such a powerful, emotional story and totally not what I expected. Once I started it, I found it hard to put down.

Reviews about The Man She Once Knew (3):
Vichredag
I liked the book in that it ends well, but it kept me with a feeling of uneasiness almost till the end. I do not know how all the wrong the townsfolk did to David was erased just like that, when he was psychologically abused for years by many of them.
Then Mikey Patton was not put to jail when repeatedly lied to justice, and he was going to force Callie into his truck and God knows what he was going to do to her!
And the sheriff, and so on....
