Amazingly prolific in his short career, Beaumont turned out some wonderful tales. Relatively few had elements of the fantastic. If you have never read the stories by Charles Beaumont, then you may be afraid of the dark too. Never judge a book by it's cover in this case Bantam missed the boat on this one, because it would really never catch your attention, when it should have sent a chill down your spine, like the stories collected in the book will do. Surely, there were numerous artists on staff etc. that could have made a cover that would chilled the potential buyer.
