I don’t real a lot of 13th century Persian poetry, but when I do it’s usually Rumi. This short volume is a good cross section of his works, covering a variety of topics. That’s probably a safe statement for most people. The greatest value I find in Rumi’s works are the beautiful phrases within larger pieces which may not always resonate for me as a whole work. A good source of inspiration.
