Michael McFee (born June 4, 1954) is an American poet and essayist. McFee is from Asheville, North Carolina. 1978) from the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill. After it was published, he taught part-time at North Carolina State University and UNC at Greensboro.

Michael is an accomplished poet and has a international following, his first book Burning In Paradise won the Independent Firecracker Award in 1998 and was recently translated in Norwegian in 2008. He has been recognized worldwide as a poet and invited to the International Poetry Festival in Genoa, Italy and Mexico to be honored for his Bukowski style poetry
