The Bicameral Critic book. Simply put: I love Colin Wilson's writing

The Bicameral Critic book. Simply put: I love Colin Wilson's writing. It made no difference whether I opened the Collected Plays at Widower's Houses or Farfetched Fables; the effect was always the same: a sense of revitalization, of excitement, like setting out on a holiday.

If the novel is short-or if it is read in small doses-then the goal is not important; you will have made an interesting excursion into new territory, and feel refreshed. Weigel, John A. Colin Wilson (Twayne’s English Authors Series, no. 181). If the novel is long, and you keep on reading to find out what happens next, your sense of freshness will disappear; you will cease to enjoy the scenery, and you will be suddenly struck by the futility of a circular bus tour.

This collection of essays by Colin Wilson (of "The Outsider" & "The Occult" fame) once again demonstrates his ability to analyze his subject, but to also communicate his thoughts on the topic at hand clearly & concisely, in a very readable style that does not sacrifice clarity for precision nor precision for clarity. A very interesting & entertaining collection of essays any Wilson fan will enjoy without a doubt.

Great book. Great author. A bit heady but well worth the time it takes to fully absorb with Mr. Wilson has to say. A true outsider. I thought he'd live to be at least 100 and still healthy. His work is missed.
