Since this book is theoretically about baseball, I guess I should start by saying that you don't have to love baseball to love this book. It helps, yes, and I think it helps if you're a man too - but it's not really necessary. All you really have to be is a reader, someone who wants a good and original, and honest novel.
If that's the case, you've come to the right place. Why this book didn't get more praise when it originally came out, I don't understand.. But better late than never.

Like all great literature, this novel takes time to get into its proper rhythm. Once it does, it leaves you amazed. Highly recommended, and you DON'T have to be a baseball fan to enjoy this.
