Darcy & Elizabeth book.

Darcy & Elizabeth book. While Berdoll's first book was an entertaining look into what Darcy and Elizabeth's marriage would be like, Nights and Days at Pemberly is nothing more than a third-rate romance novel that perverts two of our most beloved literary characters. Each chapter is just an excuse for them to jump each other which Berdoll tries to justify by throwing in convoluted pieces of intrigue.

Reviews about Darcy & Elizabeth: Nights and Days at Pemberley (7):

If Jane Austen were alive today, I feel, this is the way she would have written them herself.

I enjoyed the read, very much. If you want more, then keep Mr D & E alive and well (most of the time) in your life: then you must read this next sequel!

Anything that keeps me reading about, and to have D&E "alive" because I did not want to "lose my friends" yet (in only the way Linda Berdoli writes them). This book and the others does just that, but now I'm finished wall 3 of them, so I have to go through all books with the hope of finding one that will keep me from missing these characters too much, a very tall order.

ALERT: I like easy reads that take me away to places based in history: 1500`s to 1800`s historical fiction & non-fiction based on real people, and this one is (just as the two others) in 1 of these categories; just for shear entertainment purposes. Thought I'd mention that because if you are looking for a thought provoking novel, this is not for you. If you are like me a big J.A. & P.&P. fan and wants an escape - then keep reading & go get it and have your own escape time w/more of the same.

Not many people have the gift of description and Linda Berdoli has it hands down. Also, all characters from Austen's original have not changed a bit! So much so, as with the 1st book, it is like having movies playing in your mind. Plus, I've loved reading for over 37+ yrs & Jane Austen has always been, by far, my absolute favourite author.

Unbelievably, she captures the deepest love, that is believable unlike others I've read. Yup, you're happy when all is good w the Darcy`s. Then on the other side, when there is a loss related to the good characters (unlike dear Mr. Collins is the exception to that rule), you feel it and get misty a few times in this one & in book 3, if you still need more of the deepest love, romance, scoundrels, along wdeep loss - I promise you, you will cry wthem & route for them to rally again. Then feel lost for a bit when you finish them all.

It is difficult to write about the book without giving anything away & spoil it. So, "Go get it!" is truly all that needs to be said.

Yup, you read all of the above, only to read that last statement!
;) I hope this review is helpful.

I was excited to see this sequel to Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife, as I enjoyed that book very much. That said, I was a bit surprised that a sequel was even written, as it seemed to me that all loose ends were tied up pretty well at the end of the first book, with the exception of the fate of Mr. Wickham. This novel was written in the same vein and with the same playful tone as Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife, but I confess the plot itself didn't grab me at all. Nothing much (of significance) seemed to happen and that was true pretty much throughout the book. It was satisfying to see Mr. Wickham get his just rewards at the end of this book (and in a fitting way), but the rest of the book just sort of meandered. It took me no less than five separate tries to get through the whole of it, which tells me it was a slog. I wouldn't say it's not worth reading, and if you enjoyed Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife, you will likely enjoy meeting the same characters and following them through their trials, foibles and triumphs, but don't expect the tightly-drawn and far more interesting plotline in the first book.

I love all the book by Linda Berdoll , It has all the element of a book that will keep one up all night and day. Just can't keep it down. This is my second read and i still find it refreshing , invigorating funny and full of interesting event in the life of Elizabeth and Mr Darcy. I wish someday the 3 books will be made into a movie. My one and only question that keep on bugging me is that after the discovery that wickham is the senior Darcy's bastard's son , I wish i know who the mother is, does anybody know or did I miss the nuance of the identity of his mother? Just curios but it keep on nagging me.

I bought this at the same time as the first story, "Mr. Darcy Takes A Wife". Didn't like that one, and loathed this one. Has all the wit and sparkle of a glass of Coca Cola left out in the open for six months. Jane Austen would cringe in distaste. Ms. Berdoll needs a better editor, or at least to pay attention to one.

I'm growing more and more disappointed with this series. Too much narrative, not enough conversation (SHOW, don't TELL), and now... the author is writing chapters like a TV series with cliff-hangers and jumps from one plot-line with the Darcy's to another plot with their kids, to ANOTHER plot with the Wickham kids, and AGAIN to her original characters (Juliette). I'm very unhappy with the editing. And the only reason I'm writing a negative review is because I LOVED these stories, and they are simply not as good anymore. It makes me very sad.

I thought this book was as hot and wonderful as Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife. Though I did not get quite as much enjoyment out of this one as the newness of the first, I did enjoy it none-the-less. I admit it, in my heart I love a good, hot love story as much as the next. And in my deepest heart of hearts, I am not a prude...at least when it comes to my husband. And neither is Mrs. Darcy. Perhaps it is this minor detail that many die-hard Austen fans shun. The thought of Mr. and Mrs. Darcy having such a hot love story...unfathomable! Ms. Austen would never write such a thing! But Ms. Berdoll did. And thank heavens! Ms. Berdoll did what Ms. Austen never had the experience to. She continued the love story of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth and didn't hold back.

In the sequel to the first sequel, Berdoll gives us the wonderment and frustration that having children brings into a marriage. The fear, the joy, the maddening abstinence! The wonder and, at times, sorrow, of having to share your love with your children. Dividing your love between all. The fear and devotion of mother and fatherhood. Life at the very peak of living!

I highly recommend this book to all that enjoyed Berdoll's first; Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife. This is a suitable sequel.
