Home Larry McMurtry Cadillac Jack. Cadillac Jack is a response to this dilemma. The book's beginning was simple. I was standing on a street comer in Washington, . one day, waiting for the light to change.

Home Larry McMurtry Cadillac Jack. A black man was waiting, too. Just as the light changed a Cadillac drew up in front of us, and a jolly gentleman waved at the black man, who immediately brightened. Ho, ho, Cadillac Jack," he said, waving. The car passed on, and I crossed the street a happier man. Life had just handed me a title; all I had to do was find a book for it.

Larry McMurtry or Cadillac Jack. People imbued from childhood with the myth of the primacy of feeling seldom like to admit they really want things as much as they might want love, but my career has convinced me that plenty of them do. And some want things a lot worse than they want love. Larry McMurtry or Cadillac Jack.

She was just a dumpy little woman in an old blue coat, but the fact that she had somehow turned up in a CL barbecue joint in Falls Church, Virginia, struck me as unnerving. ely popped out of the booth and went over to talk to her. Bessie Lump didn't greet him warmly, but on the other hand she didn't seem to mind that he had come over to talk to her. Caddy jack as a book gives us a reading of what the depth of feeling is for a large number of people who pursue a live that relates to collection of unique things, to those who follow this lust as a means to make money and a few that tell the story. Every book by McMurtry makes me understand myself and others better.

Perhaps by chance, Jack and I were the same age when I first stumbled upon "Cadillac Jack" 33 years ago. I am still looking for treasures, desert cars, giant perfect pot belly stoves, and stuff; is Jack? Tireless romantics with a brain should enjoy, love, the book and hate it to end. But Jack is still out there if the Koreans didn't get him.

This is my second reading. McMurtry is one of my top five authors.

Its McMurtry, or course it's good.

This is not one of McMurtry's best efforts. The characters were lacking interest and the plot was not compelling. This is one of McMurtry's books that was easy to put down and find something worthwhile to do.

Love Larry McMurtry's writing style. This is just a fun read, not too serious. Sometimes I just want to laugh. The characters are endearing, and their names crack me up.

This was the first McMurtry book that I have read and it was highly entertaining. I dabble in antiques and much of the book revolves around Cadillac Jacks hunt for treasures at shops, flea markets and auctions. However, while I travel around the country chasing antique bargains, Cadillac Jack chases antique bargains and not-so-old skirts. He is quite the ladies man with the libido of a twenty year old. The book is well written, often funny and an escape into a world that I am only partly familiar with. Enjoy!
Great wordmanship. Best author to paint characters around history. Especially 1800’s.
