Keith is a good writer and I have read all of the Little Black Girl Lost series and enjoyed them all even though I did not read them in their chronological order. This Book 2 is did not live up to the rest of the series. The book spent too much time talking about the MOB and it was hard to keep up with it. I would rather spend time reading about Johnnie. Mr. Johnson certainly knows how to weave a good story. I look forward to more of his writings. I love it when each page is a page turner with exciting action.

Ibo b*k*a Lauren was set to marry royalty but she was in love with her intended's brother Amir. They planned their escape in the wee hours of the night the day the wedding was to take place. the unlucky lovers planned to run far away, marry and have babies only to be snatched away by captain rutgers, a slave trader that had dealings with Ibo's father. Captain Rutgers stowed them away on a dutch slave ship where unspeakable horrors occured at his hands but he had one weakness... Ibo.

Upon enterting america the windward made a stop in Santa Domingo where an uprising by slaves left the island ablaze. Lauren was sold to Beaumont Bouvier who was one of the richest men in New Orleans. Beaumont had his special tastes and went to great lengths to have them. Drama, scandal and doom plauged Bouvier Hill leaving Lauren a very rich woman.

LBGL4 is a very intriguing book that has a of history and background information to offer, but i felt the book was rushed and could've been more detailed and not so rushed with the mini chapters. Although, not as fast paced as the three books before it, it's still a great read. i know this can't be it for this series which is why the revenge i know is coming, will be best served cold. i have a love /hate relationship with Lauren but i'm looking forward to reading more about her.

The sequel to Little Black Girl lost did not live up to the first. This story was about Napoleon going all out to get Johnnie Wise away from her boyfried Lucas. I felt sorry for Lucas and Johnnie. They were to kids left alone in a dangerous world of deceit. It was unbelievable to me that any women or should I say girl; would be worth all the time and effort that Napolean put in. The story was too long and dragged thoughout. If there was not a follow up novel, I would have stopped reading it halfway through. I have read Sugar and Spice, Pretenses and Little Black Girl Lost, there were excellent. This one was not up to the same high standards that you get from his work. Keith Lee Johnson has become one of my favorite authors. Even though this one was a disappointment I will continue to read each and every novel. On another not, if you are new to his novels, read Pretenses before Sugar and Spice, it will cut down on a lot of confusion.

I have been looking at the audio-book cover for almost three years and after I read that one of the characters in a Vanessa Davis Griggs book(JohhnyMae) was enjoying the book, I checked it out of the library. Not only did I enjoy listening to this book, I picked up where I left off in the car after I purchased the e-book. I already ordered books 2-5 and I will get 6 and 7 next month. Great Job Keith. I love it! I have recommended it to all my friends and relatives

Johnny Wise finally begins to disclose the contents of her grandmother Josephine's diary. The contents prove that Johnny's life experiences are by design not by chance. It is in her DNA so to speak to live a life filled with challenges so that she will face hard-core decisions and either sink or swim! Johnny swam, although the waters were very choppy at times she made it. Now we learn of Ibo's tumultuous journey from Africa to America through the Middle Passage into the hands of slavery. Historical information is revisited with a Keith Lee Johnson flare. This is one you need to add to your collection of KLJ novels.Little Black Girl LostLittle Black Girl Lost 2Little Black Girl Lost 3 (v. 3)

I liked that it was a fast and gripping read. As a woman, reading about Johnnie's trysts you find yourself cheering her on as she uses her profits in a smart manner. Even if you don't approve of her methods you still hope she wins in the end. I highly recommend this for book clubs. (It even comes with book club questions at the end.)

This is the last installment of the Little Black Girl Lost series. I read the first two and to be honest I read the last one just to find out what happens next for Johnnie. I really tried to sympathize with her character, but I couldn't. It seemed like she was gluttoned for purnishment. After all of the heartbreak and misery, you would think she would just leave the town. One positive of this novel is that the author tied up all of the lose ends and did not have you wondering what happened to each of the favorite characters from this series. Its' worth the read if you started reading Little Black Girl Lost from the beginning.
I really enjoyed this book. I thought LBGL was good, but I found this one to be better.

The book picks up with the life of Johnnie Wise and her boyfriend Lucas. The two have a dysfunctional relationship and fail to realize it.

Lucas decides he must make things happen so he can get Johnnie away from New Orleans. Lucas will do any and everything to make money, but what will it cost him.

Johnnie finally meets the family that she has never been able to meet. After meeting these people Johnnie learns they are not all they seem to be.

Finally we have Napoleon Bentley and where he fits into the scheme of things. Napoleon will remove anyone and anything to have Johnnie to himself. Napoleon is obsessed and will not stop until he has her.

I still have a few unanswered questions,I hope they will be answered in Part III. I can't wait.
