Jory was fifteen when he got his first gun and learned how to use it. For a lot of tough hombres there wasn't a place in the West where they could run or hide from this avenger.
Reviews about Jory (Signet) (5):
I only bought this book because my name is Jory. I'm an English teacher so I hate the prose in this novel, and I hate westerns in general. However, Jory was entertaining when I could get past the prose.
So, confession. I stole this book from the library in 1977. I loved it that much as a 15 year old tomboy. I first read it as my family traveled across the country for the summer, camping along the way...with time to read and campfires to light up the night. I remember it being a good book to get lost in. I recently found it tucked away in a box of old belongings and plan to read it with my grandson. Will write an updated review at that time.
This book was just as good a story now as it was when I first read it in high school! I was so happy I could find Jory after all these years.
Bass is an excellent story teller with a down home style, good reading
