John Saul’s first novel, Suffer the Children, was an immediate million-copy bestseller.

I just like his way of descriptiveness and characterization. Dec 09, 2009 Adam Wilson rated it it was amazing. Anyway, Sleepwalk is about a quiet New Mexico town with some restless troublemaking teenagers and a newly appointed teacher named Judith.

John Saul his body, as if some unseen danger lurked nearby. He sat up, pushing aside the single blanket he had slept under, then rubbed at the ache in his right shoulder where his muscles had knotted from lying too long in one position. He hadn’t slept well. He’d gone to bed early, his mind confused with everything that had happened the day before.

John Saul does not disapoint me at all with any of his books. I love reading John Saul, and to have 3 books in one was just the fix I needed. Didn't want to put it down. This book i just recieved and am looking forward to reading it. My daughter keeps bugging me to hurry up with it she is a fan also.

one life
Typical of almost every John Saul book, this book draws you in for an easy read. While it's (meant to be) a little disturbing, the feeling doesn't stick with you all day, thankfully. Although it's much like other John Saul books, that's not a bad thing. I want to read them all.

To say that this is a horror novel would be inaccurate because it is in many ways a mystery novel. More precisely put, this novel is a combination of both mystery and horror, mixed with a little mysticism, romance, and some social commentary.
Nevetheless, just because the novel doesn't fit exactly into any of the established genre doesn't make it bad. In fact, this is a an excellent story that will keep you away from doing anything else but finishing this story. It certainly did for me.
The novel does go into certain length to introduce the characters and set up the background, which tend to leave the reader hanging. But once the story pick up, you'll love it. Just have the patience to read the first several chapters, and everything will fall into place afterward.

It held my attention, I could not wait to the end . I read for his books . Great book
I always enjoy John Saul's novels and hope he will write another one soon. Having read quite a few of his books I have to say I enjoy how they scare me and creep me out. The stories always pull me in and make me want to know more about what is happening and scare the living daylights out of me at the same time. I know a lot of people do not like horror and I can tell you that Sleepwalk, despite being a John Saul book and being a bit creepy, is one of his less frightening novels I've read. This is not to say it is not great. I loved it! It has its creepy moments but this is a book to thrill those who are too timid to read anything truly frigtening. I would suggest this to anyone who just wants a different read from romance or mainstream fiction. You will get the thrill and enjoyment Saul can offer without having nightmares. That said, I will say that I like the scarier novels better but this book really kept my attention and I was eager to find out what was happening. Yes the story is dark and yes it is a bit disturbing but nothing that will traumatize you if you are afraid of scary books. Give Sleepwalk a chance and enjoy tipping your toe into the horror genre with a book that will intrigue you and give you a friendly nudge of a chill while you enjoy reading it.
