In this case, the men are instantly attracted to one another and we have opposites attract. It is always a surprise when purchasing a Stormy Glenn book, they seem to vary so much in style and quality, and this one is definitely one to avoid. It starts well; a Viking Jarl accepts a bride as compensation not knowing that the bride is actually a man.

However the reason I gave this book a 4 instead of 5 for outstanding was that the ending was abit abrubt it would have been nice to actually see them enter their new home and to see their welcome from the current occupants after such a long journey it felt abit anti-climatic. [Siren Classic ManLove: Erotic Alternative Historical Fantasy Romance, M/M, gods, shape-shifters] Jarl Radulfr is a warrior, the chieftain of his people. It is his duty to protect and fight for them. But duty comes at a price. Radulfr has no one to call his own. When his clan is attacked, he accepts a bride in a peace-pledge to avoid war with a neighboring clan. He doesn't know until he arrives that the bride he has come to claim is a man. His betrothed is not what he expected, but Radulfr has sworn upon his honor to accept the peace-pledge. It doesn't hurt that Ein is pretty damn cute. Radulfr decides to accept things as they are and begins to take Ein home. But there are those that don't want them to reach home-gods, mercenaries, and the man who started the war in the first place. Radulfr and Ein will have to use all of their wits, and the growing bond between them, to keep themselves alive because gifts from the gods come at a price. ** A Siren Erotic Romance

I have to say I do not agree with the what some of the reviewers said; which I dare say almost stopped me from purchasing this book. I do like the different aspects that the author brought in, IMO it meshes well together. I do like both MC's and their group of merry men ;) I cannot wait to see how the story unfolds with each character and of course the how the main story will play out.

The only complaint I have is editing!!! There were some typos here and there (mortal where there should be immortal and so on). The big boo boos for me started around Ch.13. That is where sentences started to disappear and I did my best to fill in the blank. I tired decreasing the font, but didn't really help in all areas. In addition, I kept my background black in the Kindle app on my phone because if it was in Sepia the color of the font went from light gray to black throughout and was driving me crazy. Not sure if this was a publishing problem or an app problem (therefore I did not consider this in my rating).
FRAY
Honor Bound falls into a genre that i love: two people who aren't aware that they're both men are arranged to be married in an effort to unite two warring factions and settle scores. In this case, the men are instantly attracted to one another and we have opposites attract. Radulfr is the strong, battle-hardened warrior and Ein is the smaller, naive, effiminate one. I personally love these character types, but I know they aren't for everyone. In terms of the arranged marriage trope, nothing much is added. I liked the Viking aspect, as that's not something seen often in the m/m genre, and while the Norse mythology was interesting, I found the constant inclusion of Nordic (?) vocabulary almost jarring at times, especially since the terms for mother and father were used often. The writing was solid but there were formatting errors; long italicized passages would follow a single word that was meant to be in italics, so I'm not too sure what happened there. It didn't hinder my enjoyment of the book as I'm not a huge sticklerfor those things, but it made me wonder where the editor was. The romance was so sweet and the bed scenes were scorching, especially the first time! There is also the mpreg element, which added a nice little unique touch. I'm not sure when or even if the next book comes out (not looking good), but if it does I'd definitely pick it up. This was fine as a stand alone, but there is definitely enough material for at least one more book. If you like this type of m/m story and don't mind a few formatting errors, then definitely consider reading this book.

So I'm not really into Viking stories as a rule - and I delayed buying this one (even though I usually like this author) because I wasn't into the genre.

I like paranormal mm romances - especially those with a strong, rough man matched with a more submissive man. Luckily, this story more than fulfilled my wishes.

Yes, there were new talents and gifts from the gods that cropped up throughout the story which might have been a little slick - except that they added to the storyline rather than detracted. For example, at one point we meet beserkers which turn out to be shapeshifters and who join up with our heroes on their journeys. I don't think you need to have prior knowledge of Vikings - but it might seem like there are new things being thrown in constantly if you don't.

Since I like new worlds and fantasy landscapes, I really liked this book - wish the characters had been a little more fleshed out, but that's often my complaint in these romances. The good news is that there is plenty of plot, not just a few lines thrown in between sex scenes.

It is always a surprise when purchasing a Stormy Glenn book, they seem to vary so much in style and quality, and this one is definitely one to avoid. It starts well; a Viking Jarl accepts a bride as compensation not knowing that the bride is actually a man. The "bride" is actually a very nice young man named Ein. From this point on (most of the book actually) everything is down hill - the author introduces too many ideas; Viking gods, shape shifters, curses, magical talismans . . . etc. There is no focus and no story development

I love stormy glenn books but this one was a very bad read. Maybe if the explanation page was first it might have been better, but to ke this was not an easy or relaxing read. I concentrated more on the strange turms that I never got to enjoy the romance and the love.

Another great book by stormy Glenn, this is my first Viking novel and after reading this I hope it's not the last. I enjoyed the whole berserker idea which is like another form of shifters. The 2 mc were well written and I felt the connection

Very good story from beginning to end I loved the characters and supporting characters the drama and the anticipation of wanting to see what happens next. I truly hope that this is the first of many stories to come from this story. I really enjoy Ms Glenn's work and can't wait to read more of it.
Not Stormy Glenn's best by a long shot, but not terrible. I liked that it had to do with lore but their were so many words that were used and I had no idea what they meant. It wasn't explained.
