A Violation, a full-length novel by category author Charlotte Lamb, isn’t a straightforward romance, more between women’s fiction and romantic fiction

A Violation, a full-length novel by category author Charlotte Lamb, isn’t a straightforward romance, more between women’s fiction and romantic fiction. Like so many of her works, the major themes are the philosophy of love, and what are the defined roles of being a man and a woman, especially when it comes to amorous relationships. In general, I think she was better restrained by the limitations of category romance as at times here she veers off into navel-gazing.

blurb:

Clare Forrester had liked her life. She was good at her job, liked her flat and her room-mate, and was fond of her boyfriend.

But one night she was woken by an intruder, who robbed her flat and attacked her...

That moment changed her life. She felt differently about her friends and family, about her work and the men in her life. She had to come to terms with men again - and with one man in particular
Whitebinder
She had it all, conventional wisdom said – a creative career in glamorous advertising and a handsome, upwardly mobile boyfriend. Yet the gnawing dissatisfaction Clare Forrester felt was pushing her to the crisis point. She had no answers, but she knew something had to change.

Then fate intervened with a nightmare – a senseless violent rape she was powerless to prevent. When time began again after that shocking moment, Clare’s life and the lives of those closest to her were changed beyond belief.

Values, friendships, family relations – all were traumatically altered. And now the question was, could Clare rebuild any life at all from the shattered fragments of her self. And would the power of love heal the deepest would a woman could know…
