Where Love Has Gone is a thrilling tale of greed, betrayal, and passion. The censors have gone mad with censoring. I was a fan of Harold Robbins some years ago and thought I would read this book again. In love and soon to be a father, Luke Carey has the life he’s always wanted. That is, until a mysterious late-night phone call summons him to San Francisco. If you like a book with juicy bits I wouldn't bother with "Where Love Has Gone" as it has already gone from my IPad after reading a few chapters.

Really quite boring. Definitely NOT his best work. I got this because I had enjoyed some of his other novels. Found this one slow, plodding and boring in the extreme. I gave up about half way through it. Didn't find the characters interesting at all and the plodding boring sequences were horrible. Don't bother with this one.
Morad
I usually read thrillers or court dramas, so this was a little different for me. The characters were likable and I really got into the story. However, the characters were really so mixed up in their relationships that I found it hard to believe that everyone ended up with the person they had been looking for all their lives. Things don't usually turn out so well for everyone. I guess that this book is meant to be positive, so in that respect, it was a nice story.

Most Harold Robbins novels are like really good soft core porn. At the time they came out they were pushing the envelope of acceptable standards for fiction. Racy stuff. Now reading this one fifty years later it seems almost tame. However, what that allows is for the reader to appreciate what a great storyteller Harold Robins really is.
Phalaken
It was a good read for a change from what I normally read. It was set back in the 50's so everything was old and sometimes that made the story feel slow. However I still enjoyed it, Harold Robbins is a great writer so you have to give it props based on that alone.
Gigafish
I have to do some research to see how close to actual facts
of the famous Lana Turners daughter killing her Mom's
gangster boyfriend.
All names have been changed, also the murder weapon was
changed from a long bladed knife to a sharp chisel.
Rgia
This was a really good book. One of those that you find hard to put down. The plot and characters are well developed even though it is a bit muddled by sexual references that could easily have been left out.
Dilmal
The dialog make the book. The story was just another murder/screwed up rich family. But he can write and the conversatons moved along well and kept me very interested. A superb ending.
Based on description, mistakenly thought this would be fictionalized version of famous Hollywood murder. Mostly about the retelling of a failed marriage and the angst of the main character.
