Alex Brandenburg: SEAL Chief Petty Officer and Outcasts Team Leader.

The New York Times bestselling authors of SEAL Team Six are back—bringing the thrilling covert operations of the world’s most elite military team to a new novel as the Outcasts race against the clock to stop a new terror threat from al Qaeda! They are the Outcasts. Because people don’t want to know what they do. Alex Brandenburg: SEAL Chief Petty Officer and Outcasts Team Leader. Disobeyed direct orders by refusing to let a deadly terrorist live to kill another day. Francisco “Pancho” Rodriguez and John Landry: SEAL Petty Officers First Class. Took the pursuit of justice into their own hands with explosive results. Catherine “Cat” Fares. Navy Petty Officer. Holds an unbeatable record for pissing off the top brass with her strongly stated opinions on the combat readiness of women. The team’s mission: Take out the seven terror merchants vying to take Bin Laden’s place. The team’s status: Expendable. When America’s controversial Phoenix Program was buried during the Vietnam War, a new program rose from its ashes. A top-secret Special Operations unit, with a core mission to combat terror wherever they find it, Bitter Ash grew ever more necessary in a new world of Islamic fanaticism. Now, Bitter Ash is forming a special team, a SEAL Team Six with a difference. It is Tier One, on par with SEAL Team Six and Delta, but it will report directly to Bitter Ash, and its fight will take place under the cover of dark. With Bin Laden dead, the petty leaders within al Qaeda struggle to assume his role at the top. The president of the United States doesn’t want any of them left to dominate . . . and that means he has only one choice. But doing what’s needed without political repercussions will take a small team flying under the radar. A team capable of finessing the U.N.’s distinctions on national sovereignty and acts of war. A team like the Outcasts. With no official support from their government and no one to rely on but themselves, the Outcasts must track down each target. Hot on the tail of the third, Brandenburg and the team start to realize that they are closing in on a larger plot, one that puts the security of the United States in dangerous jeopardy. The terrorists are threatening American territory once again, and the Outcasts will have to do what SEALs do best. Whatever it takes to keep their country safe.
Reviews about Seal: Team Six Outcasts (7):
BORZOTA
What I would first like to say is that the author(s) respects the readers and although this is a work of fiction, it is a FUN work of fiction. The characters are credible and the general credulity of the reader is not stretched beyond the breaking point as occurs with many of the plotlines of this genre.
Good on ya' Mr. Wasdin. You broke the code.
Now would I buy anothe from this author? Yep. I certainly would.
What would I like to see? A combined multi-operational authorship between Brooks William Kelley and Daniel Dick and Wasdin.
A three part mega book with each writer taking up the baton and continuing the story.
ahhh. dream on old fool.
Graab THIS book. It is well worth your time; and that time will seem very short. This book does move.

I have read Dr. Wasdin's account of his naval service and found it to be very informative and well-written. However his jump into fiction was disappointing. I have the greatest respect for Dr. Wasdin and for what he has done for this country, but his fiction book is not worth purchasing. I am being charitable in giving it two stars.

Seal Team Six Oucasts proves once again Howard Wasdin & Stephen Templin have written a superb book regarding the covert special operations of the elite Navy Seals. The book is well written and is a real page turner. The action starts at the selection of the "Outcasts" a small team of Navy Seals assigned to eliminate seven (7) high value terrorist targets. The story develops as the "Outcasts" seek out each terrorist while giving a detailed description of the challenges presented by surroundings and unexpected incidents. This book reads like watching a movie. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and give my strongest recommendation to buy this book. I hope there are more to come fom these authors.

The authors don't waste words describing nonessential details like the flocked wall paper in a hotel lobby. They stick to the facts so the story moves very fast. No problem keeping track of characters' names--they don't hang around long enough before they are killed off. The story is linear--no flash backs to distract you from the action. Very uncomplicated. You don't have to concentrate. Even the terrorist names are simplified to avoid confusion. All in all, a good read, but don't look for enlightenment or education.

Having never read anything by this author, I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm glad I gave it a try! Great opening to, what I hope, will be a long run series. Character development at the outset really paints a picture in your head. You can almost hear the gun fights as you're reading. Going to get the second installment now.
Exellent
What an eye opener. Seal team six outcasts drew me in immediately. How these men continue to do the behind the scenes work they do without bragging is unbelievable.
When I read stories such as this it really makes me angry that the Supreme Court said people can lie about their military awards. I can only hope our government rewrites the Stolen Valor Act so it has some teeth. No one should dishonor these guys by saying they won medals doing something they didn't do.

"SEAL Team Six Outcasts," the freshman effort of author Stephen Templin, and decorated, retired Navy SEAL Team Six member, Howard Wasdin, into the world of action/adventure military thrill rides, is a solid success. The book is an action packed page turner, filled with suspense, and enough detail, to turn every young man's heart a flutter. I'm not saying the book doesn't have its problems, but they are easier to overlook when the story content is so rich, and rings so true, from men who have walked the walk, and talked the talk.
*Spoiler Alert*
One of the areas I have a problem with is the character development. Outcasts is filled with so much story content, not that it's a bad thing, but the writers skimped on fleshing out each character. I'm still unsure who John and Pancho are, other than on the team. Am I supposed to like these guys? Where did Cat come from; has she ever been in the field?
The books that keep me coming back are the ones where I become invested in the characters. I want to care about these characters, and I needed to know why I should. (Must be a girl thing)
I was really surprised to see a female on the Outcasts team, considering the only thing a SEAL seems to be afraid of is a girl on their team, and I was hoping against hope that Cat wasn't there for only one reason. Well, we can all hope. If you tell me a female intelligence officer, is a smart-ass, ball breaker, then don't write her as the doe eyed, love interest, that never says anything. Just sayin'.
Outcasts is a lot of fun, and a really great read. I hope there are many more to come. ~Kate August
