This is a heartwarming Christmas tale set in Cabot Cove, Maine. I am a huge fan of the T.V. Series and this book did not disappoint. Christmas is one of the big events in a small town. A Murder sets in motion a chain of events to make Christmas difficult. No one wants to have the News and Television people under foot and in their face blocking all the wonderful events yet to happen. In fact, it puts a damper on the Holiday.

Jessica is soon drawn into the mystery of a death in her beloved town. The events are believable and follow the wonderful Characters of the series. That was very important to me that I could hear Jessica, Seth and Mort as I read this book. If you started the Series in the beginning and didn't feel that way... this one will change your mind. I very much enjoyed it.

I found this story entertaining & a good read. I am not a rabid fan of Murder She Wrote the series but I have always found Angela Lansbury's characters to be interesting. I had always watched the series during it's original run & watched it when it went into syndication. One thing I liked about the series was the employing of the many actors, women & men, who no longer populated the TV screen except for the movies on TCM & AMC as well as TV series of 50s & 60s. The books have the same flavor as the series with the addition of what Jessica thought & felt. I would classify it as an excellent Cozy Mystery if one is in to this genre as I am. I don't read mysteries to solve them but for pure entertainment value. I would recommend them to my friends who enjoyed the series & to others who might be interested to find out what Jessica Fletcher beyond the series.

Jessica Fletcher is spending the Christmas holiday in Cabot Cove. When Rory Brent, aka Santa Claus, is found shot to death on his farm, the local holiday festival is jeopardized. Jessica snoops into the small town’s past to find a motive in order to catch the killer before Christmas. Will the next sound be Jessica’s scream piercing the silent night? This was a nice addition to the long-running book series. I love being reacquainted with my favorite characters while being introduced to new ones. I felt that Jessica was on her toes in the investigation, but the solution to the mystery was easy to figure out. I found some editing mistakes, including some repetitive sentences.

I have always enjoyed the TV series of Murder She Wrote, mostly because Angela Lansbury was the perfect Jessica Fletcher. This is my first time reading one of the books. I must say, it was a little slow & tedious at times, and I was disappointed to see many grammatical errors in such well known & loved stories. But, I enjoyed the story, especially since I was able to visualize the characters as they were portrayed in the TV shows. I recommend this to anyone who loves Jessica Fletcher & "company".

Christmastime in Cabot Cove and time for the annual Christmas Festival. But where's Santa? Why, he's been shot dead out on the farm! And Jessica (J.B.) Fletcher is on the case. This continuation of Cabot Cove capers is a comfortable visit with old friends.

The "Murder, She Wrote" book series is "based on the Universal television series" ostensibly written in the 1st person by Jessica Fletcher, with a little help from Donald Bain. This series could have been just an effortless knock-off capitalizing on the TV show - but it is, actually, quite good and could be a standout stand alone series of its own. More's the better that it offers the opportunity to continue the Cabot Cove characters we've come to cherish on TV.

It's a (quaint little cozy and) Wonderful Life! (and death.) /TundraVision, Amazon Reviewer.

Asinine . Pregnant diction. I lost count how many times all of the supporting characters continued to repeat everything the reader and Jessica already knows about the case. It was drawn out and borng, driving one to scream get to the point already dammit!

A great story and ending. Unlike the TV series, it seemed to take forever to get into the "Who dun't" part of the story. Kept me guessing but eventually was able to figure parts of it out.
This book was very captivating. I really found it difficult to put it down. I have lived in Maine all my life. The references to the way of life, in Maine, were absolutely correct.
