And after reading her book and absorbing all the details, facts and real world parallels that she offers while educating her readers, I am confident that she is right. But while some may give tips and guidance on how to create certain styles, the bare bones, the most important details on how to begin so that each individual can create a room that represents them, isn’t always addressed in a away that is applicable. The Meghan Method is not a picture book.

There are a million design books with gorgeous pictures. But not many that teach you how to create a beautiful room on your own. This book does just that. After reading this book (which I did in two days, it was that good) the lightbulb went on for me. I have since used my new skills to decorate the fixer-upper we purchased a year and a half ago. My house is turning out beautifully. I have friends ask for interior design advice. I've had a friend tell me I should be an interior designer. Another friend stepped into our home and her first comment was "Do you have a design background?" I have never had comments like these before. This book made all the difference.

Meghan teaches you how to approach a room and turn it into something that truly reflects you. She helps you design rooms that look finished and helps you avoid costly design mistakes. If you are serious about learning the design process, this book is the best.

I purchased this book to help me re-arrange my apartment in a way that I would be happy with. I have re-arranged numerous times, yet never felt it was quite what I wanted or needed despite my endless hours of thinking about it, and doing it. I am only partially through the book, but it is TERRIFIC. In parts, the book is overly wordy (which is why I didn't give it 5 stars), but so far, the process is extremely logical and is paving a path to the apartment I have always imagined. I love Meghan's approach of looking inside yourself for what you want, and then creating that, rather than looking at a magazine and trying to replicate a room or look that may not be right for you. So far the room I am working on feels more and more like me, and is shaping up to serve my particular needs. That makes it a pleasure to be in (and may even be magazine-worthy). To boot, I haven't yet even spent a penny on new furniture or decorations. I know I will, but her method has changed the entire way I think about decorating. Thanks Meghan! (I do not know her)

I like the no-nonsense and rational step-by-step approach to decorating. I have no artsy in my, I like conformity and by beds in a bag and decorating sets when everything matches at target. I love how she breaks down how to think about decorating a room, how you'll use it, and why. There's great checklists and worksheets in here to walk you through each step.

I almost got through the whole process, but then there was the whole issue of having to spend money on things....

I like Meghan's writing style and the organization and layout of the book are great, too. There is a lot of information in this book I'd never considered before when decorating and I found her tips and recommendations to be quite valuable. Originally I checked the book out from the library but liked it so much that I purchased it.

If you follow her style, you will probably spend more time planning and preparing to remodel/redecorate a space than you would normally. However, I think the end results will be worth it. I'm following her method while redoing an office space. It's a gut job down to the old shiplap subfloor and involves removing/adding/changing walls. So I'm a few weeks out from the finished room, but I suspect it's going to be awesome thanks in large part to Meghan's great advice.

This book is perfect for anybody looking into remodeling their space (home/office) or just anybody looking to work with what they already have and improve their home's feel and design.

After using this book I've received A LOT of compliments on my home, some people have even suggested I become a designer (no way!)

Regardless, I highly recommend this book, the material within is pure gold. It will turn your space into something you'll love and be proud of!

This book gives step by step instructions that really help to keep you from being overwhelmed. She also has a lot of great general information which is helpful even if you don't follow the book step by step.

Love if from the preview before I purchased.
I decorated my living room using this book and I'm quite happy with it. It took me about a year and it was a great learning experience. I shop in thrift stores a lot and I would buy anything that I like. The problem was that I like too many "styles" so I would just end up in clutter with stuff that I wouldn't like after just a few months. Defining what you want first (furniture, paint, etc) and then going and looking for it has been such a change in my shopping habits. It has helped so much. Thank you Meghan! I'm doing my patio next!
